It's just as important to us as it is to you that your job looks good. That's why it is important for you to stick to these guidelines if you are sending us artwork or images to use. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Remember, getting this wrong can cause delays or errors in your job that we won't accept responsibility for. Whilst we will always endeavour to advise you if there is something that is not quite right, naturally, we won't necessarily notice problems on work we didn't create. |

How to get your job to us
You can send us your job's artwork in a variery of different ways. If it is something that's not too big, then e-mail is always the quickest and easiest method. Otherwise, we can accept CDs, DVDs, USB flash drive, SD card or Zip discs through the post or by hand. Whatever the format, make sure it is clearly labelled. Alternatively, if you want to come in to our offices for a few minutes, we can take the files from your portable computer or mobile phone using our wireless network or Bluetooth® file transfer.
Bleed
If your document is designed in such a way that colours touch the edges of the page, then you need to supply your artwork with 3mm of bleed. Bleed is an additional area of the colour or image that touches the edge of the page. This allows for minor discrepancies when we're cutting down your finished job, and helps to guarantee a qulaity finish. With this in mind, it's also good practice to make sure any vital text or logos aren't printed too close to the edges of the document - just to be on the safe side.
We can accept artwork in the following file formats:
Adobe InDesign |
|
Quark XPress |
|
PDF Probably the easiest way to send us small files. Make sure you choose the 'Press' or 'Highest Quality' options when exporting, and always make sure that the options to include images and fonts are turned on. |
|
JPEG If your document contains a lot of text, we recommend you don't send us JPEG files and that you choose one of the other file options instead. However, if you've got large type or a document that is primarily imagery, then a JPEG will be fine. Make sure that it is in a CMYK format and that you choose the maximum possible quality. |
|
Illustrator, EPS & PS There are lots of export options from Illustrator - if possible, choose to give us the original AI file, or send us an EPS. Make sure that all of your type elements are converted to outlines, and make sure any graphic elements are converted to curves/paths. If there are images, make sure they are embedded in the file. PS is the only export option from some software, that's ok, just makse sure you follow this guide. |
